Good Old-Fashion Fun With Apple Butter Days In Lake Of The Ozarks

Apple Butter Days in Lake of the Ozarks, MissouriAnyone looking for some old-fashion fun? Lake of the Ozarks will be giving you the opportunity at the Apple Butter Days celebration. The celebration will, of course, have the main ingredients that make Apple Butter Days so great: Hundreds of freshly peeled apples, a wooden stirring paddle, a very old iron kettle, and a little touch of sugar. Mmmmmm... The Camden County Museum will be hosting this great annual event.

Volunteers have been a big part of the celebration. Many have spent much of their time this week coring and peeling crisp apples. They have also been slow cooking many batches of apple butter and pies for the celebration.

Over the years, Apple Butter Days & Crafts Fairs have become a Lake of the Ozarks, Camden County tradition. You will even see many people come to the celebration really early to stock up for the cold winter months ahead.

This year's Apple Butter Days and Crafts Fair will be held on Friday, Oct. 10 and Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You will be able to make your very own apple butter the old-fashioned way -  in the iron kettle. A soup and chili lunch will also be served at the museum. And, the apple butter and apple pies will be for sale. There will also be a raffle for homemade quilts.

If you want or need more information, you can call the museum at (537) 346-7191 or visit their website at www.camdencountymuseum.com/
